The telecommunications industry has birthed various devices now being used by people for a whole range of purposes. Headsets are some of the most useful and popular. There are many types available in the market today and each one will be used for specific reasons. Computer headsets, wireless headsets, cordless phone headsets, Bluetooth headsets and biking headsets are only some of the innovations of the modern day and are targeted at specific groups of people. The use of these gadgets are varied but they can all be grouped into three general classifications - work, personal connections and leisure.

Headsets for work are those required by people who handle many different tasks on their office tables that it is simply impractical to be holding a phone to answer a call or take notes and stall many other duties to be done. These headsets are used by secretaries, call center agents and other people who simply cannot delay work because of having to use one hand to hold a telephone.

Of course, headsets used for work become indispensable because they can contribute significantly to the worker’s daily productivity. Imagine a call center agent answering a call and, at the same time, having to take down notes or browse through a database to find information that answers the customer’s question. Obviously, people who need to multitask on their office desks need headsets both for convenience and productivity.
